Join with Green Spaces Alliance as we host a series of 4 gardening workshops in the beginning of 2018. The workshops are tailored to the needs of people who want to learn how to garden San Antonio style, and for those who are looking for a refresher course. Each event will be held at different community gardens in the Green Spaces garden network. Each garden is unique. This will give participants different perspectives and ideas as they enter into the new gardening year.

We will be giving away watering wands, moisture meters, and plants at the events, so don’t miss out!

If you do not wish to register online (preferred), call Jerry Hess at (210)222-8430 ext. 310 during business hours, or mail a check to Green Spaces Alliance, 108 E. Mistletoe Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212.

Tour the Mahncke Park Community Garden and discuss the types of planting beds and areas in this newer garden. Raised beds and building materials, berms, herb and pollinator beds, and edible landscapes are all located on this site. Guests from the Bexar County Master Gardeners will discuss soils, compost manures, fertilizers and mulch. Not to be left out is a discussion of Texas-hardy plants as well as transitioning from colder to warm weather planting. Don’t forget to bring seeds and plants for the swap meet!
