Green Spaces Alliance is an official community stakeholder and partner of the Urban Waters Federal Partnership administered through the US Environmental Protection Agency.  The Urban Waters Federal Partnership reconnects urban communities, particularly those that are overburdened or economically distressed, with their waterways by improving coordination among federal agencies and collaborating with community-led revitalization efforts to improve our Nation’s water systems and promote their economic, environmental and social benefits.

Revitalizing urban waterways will also reconnect citizens to open spaces and will have a positive economic impact on local businesses, tourism and property values, as well as spur private investment and job creation in these communities.

Through this partnership the greater San Antonio community is making significant investments to maintain connections to its waterways and restore damaged ecosystems.

The San Antonio partnership’s goals include: ecosystem restoration, trail system development, water quality improvement and improved flood mitigation.
