Join with Green Spaces Alliance as we host a series of 4 gardening workshops in the beginning of 2018. The workshops are tailored to the needs of people who want to learn how to garden San Antonio style, and for those who are looking for a refresher course. Each event will be held at different community gardens in the Green Spaces garden network. Each garden is unique. This will give participants different perspectives and ideas as they enter into the new gardening year.

We will be giving away watering wands, moisture meters, and plants at the events, so don’t miss out!

If you do not wish to register online (preferred), call Jerry Hess at (210)222-8430 ext. 310 during business hours, or mail a check to Green Spaces Alliance, 108 E. Mistletoe Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212.

St. John Neumann’s garden is new to the Green Spaces network, having been built in the fall of 2017. The Bexar County Master Gardeners will help us decide the best way to orient our garden beds and plants for optimal growth. This will include a mapping exercise, overview of Square Foot Gardening and the Three Sister’s approach to growing crops. Companion planting and symbiosis is very important as is planting to attract beneficial insects. Identifying healthy and diseased specimens is also part of the discussion, as is trellising, caging and watering.

This workshop qualifies for SAWS WaterSaver Rewards.
